Joshua Burgess is a singer, worshiper, artist, and songwriter. He grew up in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida. Joshua’s parents are pastors, he has always been in a church environment and because of this, he discovered his gift to sing.
Joshua has a drive and passion to pursue music with his all! With growing up in church, he found his God-given gift at the age of four. With having those around him who recognized it first, it helped him step out in faith and embark on the journey of perusing singing. Even now to this day, at the age of 15, he still sings at church. Not only that but is also the lead singer and worship leader at that church. Ever since he started singing, his voice has continued to develop and he has challenged it by participating in talent shows and competitions. Providing expansion for his experience and vocal skill. Since he also sings as the church worship leader and lead singer, he continues to grow in his ability to have an ear for music and how to always be prepared with and for it!
One thing that Joshua keeps near in his heart, is God and his relationship with Him! He believes that living as a Christian shouldn't just be a Sunday thing, but a lifestyle choice you choose to live out because of what Jesus has done for us! One of his favorite Bible verses are:
1 Peter 2:28 - "He himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed."
Joshua is currently in the 11th grade as well as dual enrollment. Dual enrollment is a program for high school students who want to take college courses along with their high school classes that provides college experience, extra high school credits, and potentially graduate high school with your high school diploma and Associates (AA) Degree which he is doing when he graduates with the class of 2023. He has also taken AP Music Theory which enables him to write music and have more knowledge of the fundamentals of music. Joshua Burgess is an ambitious, talented, and gifted individual who God is using in so many different ways.
